Apple thinks the RAM in the iPhone 12 series is enough because it reportedly didn’t include any more in the just-launched iPhone 13 models.

But this is another feature that might tempt buyers to pay extra for one of the Pro models — they sport 50% more than the cheaper versions.

iPhone 13 series includes 4GB or 6GB of RAM

Apple never reveals how much RAM is in its handsets. This specification usually only comes to light when the handsets are tested with benchmarking applications. But MacRumors believes it turned up the RAM amounts for the iPhone 13 by digging around in Apple’s Xcode development tool.

The two iPhone 13 Pro models allegedly have 6GB of RAM. The more basic iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini each have 4GB. As noted, those are the same as in the various iPhone 12 versions.

Android fans can point out that the Samsung Galaxy S21 has 8GB of RAM, while the Ultra version goes up to 12GB or even 16GB. But comparing RAM between platforms is a dicey business — iOS has generally proved to more efficient than Android.

Still, iPhone 13 buyers looking for the most RAM they can get will need to chose at least the iPhone 13 Pro, which starts at $999. It’s another of the ways Apple differentiates between the Pro and cheaper non-Pro versions.
