The Moft Flash Wallet & Stand magnetically clings to your iPhone, giving you a place to hold your ID while also acting as a kickstand whereever you need one.

I’ve used the wallet/stand for several weeks. Here’s how it stands up in everyday life.

Moft Flash Wallet & Stand review

With Apple Pay and digital driver’s licenses, the day when your iPhone can be your wallet are drawing closer. Until then you can attach your wallet to your phone.

MagSafe in recent iPhone models makes this much easier. The wallet can cling to magnets built into the handset. It’s also easily removable when you need to wirelessly charge the phone.

As its name makes clear the the Moft Flash Wallet & Stand is more than a place to put your license and a credit card. It’s also a stand, allowing to easily watch video on your iPhone.

It’s two useful accessories in one.

It’s an iPhone wallet

Moft’s wallet is 0.3 inches (8mm) thick without cards inserted. It’s 4.0 inches by 2.6 inches. The weight is 2.2 ounces (62g). That makes it too large for an iPhone mini, but it fits any other iPhone 12, 13 or 14 model.

With the MagSafe accessory attached to my iPhone 13, the combination is 0.6 inches thick. That’s a bit more than I like.

The wallet/stand is made of artificial leather in four colors: night black, hello yellow, oxford blue or windy blue. The stitching is nicely done, and the product looks quite nice.

I understand that the idea of attaching your wallet to your phone with magnets might make you nervous. But I can assure you that the two never came apart accidentally in the weeks I used the accessory.

The slot has room for two cards. For me, that’s a drivers license and an Apple Card – that’s all I need. Rival iPhone wallets can hold three. If you carry around a great many more than that, take a look at all the junk that’s collected in your wallet. Do you really need to carry that Subway loyalty card with you everywhere?

Moft designed the Flash Wallet & Stand to open like a clamshell. The iPhone wallet is in the outer flap, and there’s an opening on the inside. This serves multiple purposes.

The slot makes it easy for you to slide cards out. Or Moft suggests you can show someone a card without removing it, though the opening is only 2.6 inches by 1.5 inches, which isn’t large enough to show the whole front of my drivers license.

And, if you have a card that uses NFC to offer wireless payments, you don’t even have to take the card out of the wallet – just open the clamshell and tap the card on the reader.

It’s also an iPhone stand

Unfold the clamshell and the iPhone wallet becomes an iPhone kickstand. Because the connection is magnetic, you can rotate your handset to be either in portrait (vertical) or landscape (horizontal) mode. That’s handy for watching videos or FaceTime/Zooms calls. You can even game with a wireless controller.

The Moft Flash Wallet & Stand lets me tilt my iPhone 13 from 105 degrees (15 degrees past vertical) all their way back to 150 degrees (60 degrees past vertical). Beyond that point, the hinge starts pushing the iPhone off the stand. That’s a pleasingly wide range, letting me position the screen at any angle I’ve wanted in my testing.

Moft Flash Wallet & Stand final thoughts

I’ve used iPhone wallet cases for many years because a slim wallet that attaches to my phone is very convenient. Adding a stand improves the deal.

Be sure you truly want the stand because it nearly doubles the thickness of this accessory. There are thinner options for just holding cards.
